Tip 11: And more, more, more content
so that your site will grow, grow, grow!
..............................................................................................................
Quality content is king, so I guess that makes QUANTITY the queen.
It's not all about quality. Quantity counts too.
The best, highest-ranking websites are absolutely chock-full of quality content. Your site will need to grow into something worthwhile over time, and it's nearly impossible to have a site that's too big.
Simple theory:
The bigger your site is, the more content Google can scan. The more content Google can scan, the more keywords you'll be able to target. The more keywords you can target, the more visitors you'll get.
Think about some of the most popular and credible sites on the Internet today: Wikipedia.org, Amazon.com, WebMD.com, IMDb.com, YouTube.com. What do they all have in common? They're absolutely HUGE.
Example:
This time, let's imagine I own a site that sells digital cameras. I have a well-designed homepage, and all of my sub pages contain pictures of cameras with basic information about them. Is this enough? Probably not.
To grow the quantity of content on my site, I could write content myself, purchase some affordable photography writers to help me build content, and even have places on the site for users to contribute content.
I'll want to add articles to compare different cameras, photography tips and tricks, a forum where users can chat about photography, and maybe even a place where users can submit photos for critique. Do whatever it takes to grow, grow, grow.
Google will reward you for the size of your site, as well as having fresh content added on a regular basis. The bigger my site becomes, the more digital cameras I will sell. Simple.
King Quality and Queen Quantity Rules the Kingdom of the SERPS!
