Quality content is king.
Seriously. There are lots of made-for-Ad-sense sites that have low-quality articles, poor content, grammar and spelling mistakes, and lots of ads. When you're a visitor searching the web, do you like to find sites like that? Do you bookmark sites that are hard to read? Do you go back to sites that have no meaningful content? Answers to the above questions: No, no and no.
Does Google care if your content is useful? *shrug* It probably doesn't know how useful your site is to visitors, but it does know how many people naturally link to your site and how many people click on it in the search results page. These things have a direct effect on how well your site performs over time.
Poor content can help people earn a quick buck, but poorly-written sites rarely stay at the top of Google searches for very long. I recommend that Webmasters take pride in their work and make quality sites that people need and want to visit.
